Launching gmail app
It should be possible to launch the gmail app by tapping the empty screen, hitting the gmail icon on top is too hard. Perhaps an option allowing you to choose which app should be started when tapping the widget.
Small problem
I'm triying your widget and it is working perfectly, the common inbox show the messages from all my current gmail emails accounts (are 3).
Anyway, i'm facing a small problem: when i click in the widget board to open a message from one of these accounts (is a custom gmail domain, not @gmail.com) the gmail app get open but it show a message telling me that it is not a valid gmail account regardeless it is configured and working perfectly in that main gmail program and showed in your wondeful widget.
Clicking in messages received in any other acount works right and the widget send me to gmail app opening the right message.
Do you know where could be the problem? Could be that you have hardcoded the gmail.com suffix?
I have not been able to replicate this issue. I am using several @gmail.com accounts as well as @katzoft.com and it redirects me to the right one every time.
However, the interface to the Gmail app is undocumented and unofficial, so there's no guarantee that it will always work.
I hope you will still find the app useful and consider a purchase.
Select account colors
A feature I'd like to see is the ability to choose account colors. Currently the widget chooses random colors when the widget is created.
I use one widget on my lockscreen and another on a regular homepage. The colors are not the same between the two which makes it tough to distinguish which account by a quick glance.
To add to the confusion my work email is yellow on one widget but my personal email is yellow on the other. If these color choices were customizable I would be very happy!

Gingerbread compatibility
I want to use gmail widgets on my Motorola Pro+ running 2.3.6 Gingerbread, but Play Store says the app only works on ICS and up.
Not updating on Android 4.2
I just got a new Nexus 10 (running Android 4.2). And I am not seeing it update.
I see the standard android notification that I have gmail, and I ask the widget to refresh, nothing.
Works fine on my S3 running 4.0.x
Cosmetic remarks.
Hi,
I have the following cosmetic remarks.
They are not serious, however maybe you can change this in a future version?
- The first message has no senders adres and date.
- The first message indent more than the second message, why?
- With the first message there is no M icon, maybe this is caused due to the fact that this message is a system message from one of my own accounts?
- The colored bar at the left of the message is changing colors of his own.
They where first blue and they are now green.
I cannot discover how to get this colored bar back to blue.
I like this widget very much!
It works very good
Thanks, Ton
Hi, thanks for the feedback.
Are you sure the issues regarding the first message are not just caused by the fact that you have scrolled down a little?
As for the colors, they are assigned randomly, but should stay the same unless you change the configuration (e.g. remove / add labels).
Adding other Accounts besides Gmail
I have a Nexus 7 and love your GMail Widget interface. I just noticed that on the top, it looks like you can add additional types of accounts (Facebook, LinkedIN, email from other email programs). I'm assuming it's there so you can view content from these sources using this widget which I was excited to be able to have that ability because UI is perfect! However, it seems to lock and/or not complete when I try to add one of these other accounts. Can someone set me straight?
The "add account" icon is currently just a link to the corresponding screen on you device. The purpose it to save you having to back out of the Gmail Widgets configuration screen to add another Gmail account.
If you would like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or other notifications, you would have to configure those services to send you emails to your Gmail account.
We are, however, looking at integrating other sources directly. Which one would you be most interested in?
blank message when trying to install widget
I see you have been using Gmail Widgets for about 3 months. Is this a new issue? Or has it been like this all along? Which device(s) are you using?
